I'm back! Here's the truth...

Hi Guys!

It’s been a while hey? Since my proper newsletter back in Oct last year when I stopped my weekly newsletter, many of you wrote back and voted on what you wanted to see.

To which I never addressed here (my sincere apologies) but at the time of reading I was overwhelmed with over 100 emails but also super grateful that you value my opinons and thoughts. I want to say THANK YOU 🥹

Some of you gave me some cool ideas like:

  1. Just repost stuff you posted on Tiktok/IG/FB because you don’t always see it

  2. Post when you feel like sharing important news or your thoughts

  3. We just want your opinion

Honestly, looking back the major thing was imposter syndrome (yes sounds silly right - we’re now at 56,000 from 30,000 since i closed down the newsletter and yet with no effort the newsletter has still grown).

**Side note: NOT writing about the latest AI news made me more FOMO, wasn’t as on the ball with what’s happening. So… writing was a good habit.

The thing is there have been many times I wanted to say my thoughts & opinions but was scared people would think I didn’t know what I was talking about - that AI can’t do this task properly yet or it’s just plain mediocore?!

For example, you may hear businesses using AI to cut out 90% of their work.

But how??? After many instances of trying to figure out “what” the heck they are talking about, under the hood, it was simply just “fluff”… basically rubbish.

Yes, the new AI tools are cool & exciting (I’m a marketer so I use “hooks” too) but to a business owner, they need something that is predictable & works everytime.

This is why you can’t always trust the demo compared to when you use it in real life.

Additonally, on my consulting calls, I’ve been seeing 2 spectrums.

On one hand, I get requests like “what tool can automate my entire marketing, SEO without me”. YET when I ask them what AI tools they’ve used so far, it’s usually none.

On the otherhand, the people who have actually used AI (I love it when they tell me they’ve tried a tool I recommended and it changed their life 🥹), they are getting great productivity gains working with AI.

They know the limitations & are realistic with what to send off to AI vs do manually.

Here’s the truth.

There’s hype but then there’s REALLY USEFUL AI use cases that doesn’t get seen. I want to break through that noise & show you what’s actually important.

What you can expect from me to show you (as I’ve always delivered):

  • If it’s too technical or not intuitive, it’s out (unless it’s crazy cheap😂)

  • If it doesn’t have a practical business use case, it’s out

  • I don’t care if it’s called “AI”, if it can do the job in less steps, less tools & less automations, that’s the one we should use. Less is more!

  • Humanize AI output, noone wants AI slop

Hence why I’m relaunching my newsletter (may not be every week but more when I have something useful to say).

Here’s what I’m bringing to future newsletters:

  1. Curation of cool things I’ve seen in AI this week for business

  2. Quick tutorial (that I’ve personally tried)

  3. What I’m building (goal is to automate myself out of business)

All of this will be relating to practical uses of AI in business, not generic or theoretical.

If you’re down for that, I look forward to writing for you! 🙂 Feel free to share with your friends!

Cheers,

Nat
