AI Making Us More Creative Rather Than Replace
Many people think AI is killing creativity - that it’s not “real” unless it was physically created by a human.
But I beg to differ on this topic.
It’s actually allowing us to create & build things we never thought was possible (only in our imagination). Why? Because we didn’t have the tech skills, the years of experience in coding or photoshop.
Like Fatih Ekşi who is an architecture designer. He stacked his skills with AI art using tools like Stable diffusion to create fruit & food inspired buildings that may one day become reality!
The problem is many people think AI should just do everything - from start to finish. This seems to be a common complaint from people when it comes to using AI.
What you should be doing (right now anyway), is to use AI in parts of your workflow where you can. Accept there are still SOME manual tasks.
For example, Mango (fashion ecommerce brand) launched their first AI campaign for their teen line. It’s actually live on their website now here.
If you didn’t tell me this was AI, I wouldn’t have noticed (nor would a normal consumer if you ask me). Yes they are hiding the feet (maybe it can’t be done properly yet but it will get there).
But overall, I think this experiment was a success in proving, AI can be used in real life for business.
Here was the process if you were interested:
A photographer took real photos of garments from the collection
These real images were input into a generative AI model
The AI model was pre-trained on correct garment positioning
Mango's main challenge - getting editorial-quality images without real models
The internal photography studio retouched, edited, and mastered the AI-generated images
Notice how there were still manual processes? 🙂
