🧑‍🍳FRESHLY BAKED - AI UPDATES🧑‍🍳

Google’s Gemini Live - Free For Billions of Android Users

Previously, Google’s Gemini Live was only available under a $20/mo paid subscription but now it’s getting rid of the paywall, making it free for all.

It’s rolling out to 4 billion Android users (I just checked & it’s available here).

What can it do?

Like ChatGPT’s new Advanced Voice mode, you can have a back and forth conversation in real time, interrupt it, has 10 natural sounding voices making the whole discussion feel much more “human”.

It will also be integrated with your camera so it can “see” the users surroundings to give the voice assistant more context (coming later this year).

This will be great for helping with collaborating with the team, learning a new skill, homework help for the kids etc.

Unlike ChatGPT where it’s been in alpha testing for a small group of paid Plus users, Google has released it for free and available instantly.

Why is Google making it free?

This is a great way for Google to leapfrog consumer adoption of Gemini Live by making it free for all. But it also means more training data for Google’s future AI models.

While it doesn’t store your voice recordings, it can use your transcribed conversation data with human reviewers looking it in anonymous form. So please remember not to talk about confidential information - this one will be tough!

Tutorial: 7 Ways to Humanize AI Responses

Use these 7 tips in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot to improve your output:

  1. Guide your AI to avoid overused terms - Create a list of words to exclude, such as "delve," "game-changer," and "comprehensive." (Check full list here)

  2. Minimize emoji usage

  3. Provide with examples of your previous writing to help it capture your unique voice and style (Claude does this best)

  4. Make the language easier to understand - tell it to make it simple enough for a 4th grader to understand

  5. Edit it - Always review before posting, don’t expect 100% from AI (yet)

  6. Break down complex tasks - When giving instructions to AI, divide them into smaller, more manageable steps for better results

  7. Add natural variations, slight imperfections, or casual phrases occasionally to make the content feel more human-written
