NEW Bard Update - Connects to Gmail/Drive
Bard just released its new ability to connect with your Google Workspace, allowing it to access your Gmail, Docs, Drive! The best part? It’s all private!
Get answers based on your own data WITHOUT actually uploading or preparing new documents.
Examples of use cases:
Create travel itineraries based on your booked flights on Gmail/Google Drive & export to Docs
Locate specific information across Gmail/Drive
Why this is better than ChatGPT?
Privacy - With ChatGPT you have to manually disable chat history to protect privacy at the cost of functionality (no access to plugins or Advanced Data Analysis).
Hassle - With ChatGPT, you have to manually upload text otherwise it doesn’t have context whereas with Bard, it automatically has access to all your information AND it's private.
While Bard's new extension options are still limited (Flights/Hotel/Youtube), the Google Workspace integration unlocks a lot of potential. We’re excited to see more updates from Bard!
Shocking Top 50 AI Tools (Monthly Visits)
Can you believe it’s only been 9 months since ChatGPT launched out of nowhere? It seemed like overnight thousands of AI tools were also born.
Well, here’s the Top 50 AI tools that have the most monthly visits!
Interesting Takeaways:
It’s anyone’s game: 80% of these AI sites didn’t exist one year ago!
Big players are the minority: Only 5 out of 50 AI tools are owned/part of big tech companies ie. Bard (Google), Poe (Quora), QuillBot (Course Hero), Pixlr (123RF), and Clipchamp (Microsoft)
How it’s built: 3 way split between (1) Trained their own proprietary model (2) Fine-tuned existing model (3) Built on top of existing model (“GPT Wrappers”)
Self made: Almost half (48%) are completely bootstrapped
Money Talk: 90% monetise via subscription (avg $21/mo) per user
How people are using AI: Surprisingly, AI is not just for work. Explosive growth in AI for companionship overtook AI for content generation (excludes general chatbots, see graph below)
This explains why AI tools like Character.ai is 2nd on the list (just after ChatGPT). If you’ve never heard of it (you’re not alone), it seems to be a very popular AI app for young people where you can talk to different characters like Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, anime game characters, study buddy etc.
After seeing the stats above, I had to try it out myself. My favourite is Business coach (I know, I’m boring lol) - it’s pretty conversational and feels like you’re talking to a real person. You could do the same in ChatGPT but feels more robotic. For now I will stick to ChatGPT as it has the most context about me but feel free to try it out too!

@cj_zZZz shared an clever way to save 60% research time by using Agents, Commands, and Rules. Paste this in 2nd column of Custom Instructions:
Here are the hotkeys that I will be using so remember the "Call to Action":
Agents:
/A: Agent for designing actionable step-by-step guides
/B: Agent for brainstorming ideas.
/C: Agent for content writing
/E: Research Agent to gather data, statistics, or quotes for the content - from the internet.
Commands:
/save - restate the GOAL, summarize progress so far, and recommend a next step
/reason - share your reasoning for the response you generated
/settings - update the goal
/new - Forget previous input
/validate - Validate information from the internet.
/explore - Provide more creative or out-of-the-box ideas.
/shortcut - Lists all available agents and commands for quick reference.
Rules:
1. End every output with a question or a recommended next step.
3. Do not answer with "As a large language model..." or "As an artificial intelligence..." I already know that.
3. Don’t use emojis in responses unless I ask.
4. Don’t assume any point. Always ask me to clarify the points you can assume.
5. Be excellent at reasoning. Always perform tree of thought and chain of thought technique before you answer.
